Snack Sack
A subscription for River City Outpost
Snack Sack is a monthly subscription of a local CSA in Mayanunk named River City Outpost who supplies local produced food to the people of that area.
Goal
With my introduction to River City Outpost and my research on their problem area, I visioned to build an innovative application that would be having a future perspective. My goal was to create an awareness that people consume under the existing subscription of River City Outpost. My target group was the subscribers of the Snack Sack service.
My Role
I was the sole Researcher and Designer for this project. As a part of my research, I conducted interviewed stakeholders and target audience, built personas and journey maps, worked on designing the IA and built new wireframes, built high fidelity wireframes and UI.
Research Phase

Stakeholder Interview
I started the project by interviewing the two stakeholders of the enterprise for problem finding. Even though the two stakeholders had a common vision , they had very different approach towards the entity. One of them seemed extremely business mined while the other stakeholder seemed to be more keen in building community and emotional connection with the users.

End User Research
I decided to reach out to the End users in order to understand their experience s with Snack Sack subscription. The easiest way to make them share their thoughts on a weekly basis on a paper pad or a black board like the images shown.

Fly on the Wall
I executed a Fly on the Wall observation inside the enterprise in order to understand the task flow of the employees and costumers. It gave me some extremely interesting insights about the workflow.

Experience Mapping
I subscribed myself for Snack Sack in order to get knowledge about the task flow of the same. One of the primary learning was that every subscriber receives a recipe mail every week after pricking up the subscription from the store.
Empathy Map was built by me to lay out my whole experience with River City Outpost. It showcases a detailed diagram of my pain points after enrolling myself as a subscriber as well as my observations of other subscribers.

Walk-a-mile immersion
This User Flow was a foundation for identifying the strengths and opportunities for experience improvements of the existing subscription.
Insights
Some of the main insights that was found by the research that acted as a foundation for my Solution are:
Some of the recipe ingredients that the subscriber receives in the e-mail are missing in the weekly stock of the subscription.
People are extremely excited about the weekly pickups. The anticipation for the ingredients every week are very high.
Subscribers are unaware of the ingredients of the weekly subscription until they reach the store to pickup.
People share an emotional connection with the stake holders.
Persona

Implementation Phase

Ideation
The ideation process was started by my implementation of the main elements of my research.Considering there were too many elements , I tried to keep it as concise as possible. My focus has been in educating people, the Snack Sack recipes and a reward system in order to hook the users. With that I tried to come up with various iterations of wireframes for the app.
Site Map
On basis of the necessities among the subscribers I built the site map inclusive of the Feature Maps and the Information Architecture. As the concept was focused on the Snack Sack subscription a major portion of the architecture has been focused on enhancing their experience.

Wire Frame
Further from the Architecture I have built the main wireframes of the appllication.

Mood Board
A Mood Board exercise was designed by my program in order to help me identify matching elements and have take inspiration from a variety of subjects. It not only helped to have a better vision for the experience of my product but also to build the UIs of the app.
